Nella provincia di Vicenza i seggi allestiti erano sette, a Vicenza, Schio, Thiene, Bassano, Valdagno, Camisano, Dueville e Quinto Vicentino.Nel voto per il segretario nazionale hanno prevalso le preferenze per Fausto Raciti, che ha raccolto il 40% dei consensi espressi. Nella votazione per l’elezione dei delegati all’assemblea nazionale, dove gli elettori dovevano indicare una doppia preferenza, per un candidato maschile e per un candidato femminile, i candidati più votati, tutti vicentini, sono risultati Giulia Priante, 19 anni, studentessa di Scienze Mediche, con 136 preferenze, e Giacomo Bez, studente del Liceo Scientifico Quadri, 17 anni, con 92 voti. Nella votazione per l’elezione dei delegati all’assemblea regionale, i candidati più votati sono stati due studenti diciottenni del Liceo Classico Pigafetta di Vicenza: Giacomo Possamai, con 116 voti, e Samantha Pegoraro, con 101 voti.I 36 delegati eletti costituiscono da oggi il nuovo coordinamento provinciale dei Giovani Democratici.

Un anno e 26 giorni fa nasceva il nostro partito, il Partito Democratico, con l’obiettivo di unire tutti i cittadini che nutrivano la speranza di creare un partito nuovo, aperto, che lavorasse per operare le riforme necessarie a questo Paese. Bene, noi giovani, questa ambizione, non l’abbiamo persa. Noi crediamo ancora che il Partito Democratico possa essere un partito nuovo, diverso.
I caratteri innovativi che devono contraddistinguere il progetto politico democratico sono 4:
- un partito che si rinnovi attraverso un grande ricambio generazionale, che aiuti a rendere gli aderenti al nostro partito dei democratici e non degli ex;
- un partito che attraverso la dialettica, il dialogo e il confronto, arrivi a quella tanto invocata sintesi delle culture che hanno accettato la sfida di dar vita al partito democratico
- un partito con contenuti moderni, ancorati ai progetti dei riformisti europei
- un partito che si rinnovi nella comunicazione cercando di utilizzare al meglio i media e gli organi di informazione, recuperando lo storico gap che ci separa dalla destra

Crediamo, quindi, ci sia bisogno, nel nostro partito, di un profondo lavoro di rinnovamento nell’azione e nella proposta politica. A questo fine riteniamo che si debbano:
Più forza ai circoli: rafforzare i Circoli cittadini in modo che divengano veramente il luogo di confronto con la cittadinanza: ascoltare e proporre le nostre idee per essere forza di rinnovamento, d’innovazione nei contenuti e nel modo di fare politica;
Porte aperte: i Circoli, il Partito Cittadino, devono essere accessibili: su internet, tramite gli aderenti. Per questo servono iniziative, continue, interessanti, intelligenti. Per farci conoscere e per conoscere.
Alta politica: al di là delle iniziative elettorali servono fasi di dibattito politico e culturale vero nei Circoli, nelle Piazze, nel Web.
